Land Art in the Abandoned
Villages of Ralsko
symposium, art paths, public contest
Dear fans of land-art and extinct villages,
unfortunately, given the current situation, the festival will not take place - certainly not in May or June 2020. If the situation allows, we will hold a chamber meeting at the end of August or September 2020 to at least meet our German friends in Jablonec and perhaps celebrate the "end of the coronavirus era", perhaps even build a coronavirus column and rejoice that we can to meet.
Proměny Festival offers an exceptional opportunity to meet our partners from Norway and Iceland, who have come to share their experiences with artistic and educational projects. See the document.
Since 2016, the non-profit organization Geopark Ralsko has been regularly organizing international land art gatherings in the landscape of abandoned municipalities where artists from different countries meet to create works that reconcile the history of the violent landscape transformation within Ralsko. The mission is to strengthen the cultural identity of the local inhabitants connected to the landscape in the border regions which has undergone a fundamental transformation in the 20th century. Nowadays, we are reconnecting and rebuilding our relationship to such "disappeared" places whose meaning for the future is still to be found.
We have already organized four annual symposiums. In 2016 and 2017, two documentaries were created in addition to the works of art.

We thank our partners and supporters.
